The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the team being linked to edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue

The Cleveland Browns have become one of the most aggressive teams this offseason. They went after some big targets in free agency as they landed Austin Hooper, Jack Conklin, Karl Joseph, and Andrew Billings.

These moves have them suddenly looking like contenders, but according to some, they might not be done. New rumors have Cleveland as one of the teams interested in landing disgruntled Jacksonville Jaguars edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue.

With their roster already containing Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon, this sounds like something that might not be true, but it does fit with their current aggressive nature. It also comes not long after seeing them look at Jadeveon Clowney, so maybe they do want to improve here.

Browns rumored to be a trade suitor for Jaguars EDGE Yannick Ngakoue — Jeff Risdon, Browns Wire

"“Cleveland certainly makes some sense from a need standpoint, and the Browns do have the immediate salary cap room needed to absorb Ngakoue’s franchise tag figure of over $18 million.”"

Cleveland has the money to pay Yannick Ngakoue, but the question is whether or not they should. They already have Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon as well as Adrian Clayborn. That means it’s not a huge need so maybe paying $18 million plus giving up a high draft pick won’t be the best move for them right now.

Analyzing the Cleveland Browns 2020 Overall Cap — Shawn Stevenson, SI.com Browns Digest

"“Examining the team’s current cap space allocation there are players with staggering cap hits. Olivier Vernon commands the team’s largest cap hit currently set to be paid $15.5 million for the final year of his contract. The next two highest salary cap hits should come to no surprise as they belong to wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham, at $14.55 million and $14.25 million respectively.”"

Stevenson points out that the Browns have the most cap space left but they may want to roll some of that over with players such as Myles Garrett set to hit free agency in the near future.

Browns mock draft roundup: Who the experts have Cleveland taking — Ben Axelrod, WKYC.com

"“With an abundance of offensive tackle talent in the draft and the Browns possessing a massive hole at left tackle, it would be a shock at this point if Cleveland selected a player at any other position in the first round on April 23. The question, however, remains: Which specific player will the Browns pick?”"

Axelrod looks at mock drafts from different sports sites and sees that the majority of them have the Browns landing an offensive tackle. However, Daniel Jeremiah bucks the trend as he selects Isaiah Simmons for the Browns.
