Offensive Line Advantage: Ravens

This is a tough one to evaluate, as both units are going to likely see some changes in the draft. Last season, the Ravens won this one by a landslide. The Browns had two great offensive linemen, and then a bunch of holes across the board. Last season, the Ravens had one of the best units in the NFL. Now, future hall of fame offensive lineman Marshal Yanda has retired and the Ravens have a serious hole at right guard.

The Browns currently have holes at right guard and left tackle. Left guard Joel Bitonio, center J.C. Tretter, and new right tackle Jack Conklin are all Pro Bowl level players. The Browns should be drafting a left tackle with the No. 10 pick, but the right guard spot will likely come from someone on the roster. Chris Hubbard, Wyatt Teller, and Drew Forbes will have an open competition for the spot.

As for the Ravens, their offensive line is still set. They have two great young offensive tackles in Ronnie Stanley and Orlando Brown Jr. Center Matt Skura is a good player, and left guard Bradley Bozeman is a young and promising player who just started his first full season for the team. Right guard is the biggest hole on the Ravens offensive line, and they will not be able to find someone as good as Yanda to fill it. However, they’re returning four starters who all have chemistry with each other, and will likely draft someone to fill Yanda’s spot.

The Browns will likely be returning two, maybe three starters max. The lack of chemistry upfront will hurt the team at times, especially early on in the season. However, by the end of 2020, the Browns could easily have the better position group here. Needless to say, both offensive lines have bright futures ahead of them.
