2. Antoine Winfield, Jr., Minnesota

One player who seems to constantly be mocked to the Cleveland Browns at No. 41 is Antoine Winfield, Jr. It’s easy to see why that is since he’s not only a great fit for their defense but he’s also likely to be there when the Browns are on the clock with the 41st pick.

More from Browns Draft

The son of a former Ohio State star and NFL Pro Bowler, Winfield went to Minnesota and had trouble with injuries in two of his seasons with the Gophers. After playing in only four games in both the 2017 and 2018 campaigns, Winfield suited up for 12 games in his final season and really impressed.

Part of a surprise Minnesota team, Winfield had a career-high 83 tackles and seven interceptions. As for his projections at the next level, Kyle Crabbs of The Draft Network believes he can not only play as a deep safety but can offer up man coverage on tight ends as well.

"“As a deep safety, Winfield Jr. is best in half field coverages but he brings man to man coverage skills against tight ends and is a viable fill defender in the box to step down against the run. He’s not an elite athlete but his instincts and discipline will net him splash plays.” — Crabbs, The Draft Network"

This is a player who could start right away for the Browns and landing such a prospect at pick 41 would be a win for general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski.
