The Cleveland Browns have been linked to several draft prospects but these three players are ones they need to avoid drafting in the 2020 NFL Draft
There are a lot of names being thrown around this time of year as the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL approach the 2020 NFL Draft. As is the case every year, there are players being linked to the team and fans start to pick favorites who they hope land with their favorite club.
This year, the Browns pick 10th overall and they are sure to land a great talent there. Some names that have been mentioned include Andrew Thomas, Jedrick Wills, and Isaiah Simmons. All three would be great selections but there are other players who the Browns need to avoid.
And this isn’t just true of the No. 10 pick. There are other names throughout the draft they have been linked to one way or another that should probably be avoided. Here, we dig into three names that should be skipped if they’re on the board while Cleveland is on the clock at any point during the 2020 NFL Draft.
Honorable mention: Hunter Bryant, TE, Washington
One player that the Browns have met with that they probably should avoid is Washington tight end Hunter Bryant. A solid athlete for the Huskies, there are several reasons Cleveland should skip over him. The first is simply his height. Bryant measured in at 6-foot-2 which is short for the position.
Second is his injury history. During his career, he had two knee injuries which is something to worry about that only gets magnified when the player is undersized.
Lastly, the Browns don’t need a tight end. They’re already paying Austin Hooper more money than any other tight end and they have David Njoku. They might need to replace Njoku next season but there’s no reason to use anything other than a day three pick on the position this season.
