The Tennessee Titans will likely be in the cornerback market as it appears they will likely not resign Logan Ryan. Many around the league believe the Browns or Titans are the favorites to land Jadeveon Clowney, and if the Titans do, re-signing Ryan is out of the question because of cap limitations.
The Titans will be in a good position at pick no. 29 to replace Ryan with a name familiar to the NFL. Cornerback Trevon Diggs, broth to Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills started his college career as a wide receiver but eventually ended up moving to defensive back at the recommendation of Nick Saban. Diggs is still raw as has only started the position for three years but could develop into a tremendous NFL corner.
While the Green Bay Packers have won a Super Bowl with standout quarterback Aaron Rogers, many believe given the talent the Packers should have won more. As Roger’s window starts to close, look for the Packers to add a weapon for him in wide receiver Tee Higgins from Clemson.
Higgins is a large target at 6-foot-4 and 216 pounds and would pair well with pro-bowler Davante Adams. Higgins was a high performer in his last two seasons at Clemson and won a National Title and a runner-up trophy. Higgins leaves Clemson tied with NFL stars DeAndre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins for most touchdowns in school history at 27.
After replacing recently traded DeForest Buckner with their pick from the Indianapolis Colts earlier in the first round, look for the San Francisco 49ers to continue to shore up their defense with added depth on the back end. Cornerback A.J. Terrell was easily a first-round pick before a poor performance against LSU in the National Championship game last season.
Look for the 49ers to take a risk on the Clemson defensive back who could be mentored by the great Richard Sherman to gain his confidence back. Terrell has the size and athleticism of a great NFL corner and excels in tight man coverage. If Terrell can bulk up and work on zone coverage, he could be a great starter in the NFL.
