Pick 10. player. Round 1. AndrewThomas. OT. 814. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

With the 10th pick in the draft, the Cleveland Browns get the left tackle of their future by selecting Andrew Thomas from Georgia. It seems as though Thomas will be on the board for the Browns at 10 and he is a solid prospect for Cleveland. After playing right tackle as a freshman for Georgia, he played left tackle for the Bulldogs since his sophomore year, so he will have the comfort and experience on the left side as opposed to some of the other tackles who strictly played right tackle in college.

Here, the Browns land themselves a plug and play, from day one. He has probably the highest floor of the top four tackle prospects which is perfect for Cleveland because they are not looking for a project or a high-risk player.

The Browns need stability and a player they can count on, and Thomas can be that guy for them.

Thomas only missed one game in his career due to injury which is another positive for the Browns who are seeking durable and consistent players. He was a five-star recruit out of high school and continued to impress at the collegiate level.

Thomas is listed at 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds which is good size for an NFL left tackle. He is powerful at the point of attack but also patient and stays level. He has good footwork and balance which he displays in both the run and pass game.

He even blocked for Browns running back Nick Chubb for one season at Georgia. The Browns would certainly love to see Andrew Thomas on the left side of the line, once again blocking for Chubb.

The addition of Thomas as well as Conklin via free agency will bring a very solid group to the Browns line. One year after having an awful line that created problems for the offense all season, the Browns could have a really good unit up front. Thomas can help be the cornerstone left tackle for years to come.
