Defensive Line. San Francisco 49ers. Javon Kinlaw. 13. player. 42.

TRADE – San Francisco 49ers from Indianapolis Colts

The trade stems from the DeForest Buckner to Indianapolis Colts trade to begin the NFL free agency. What will the San Francisco 49ers add to their already loaded roster? Why not try to bolder the defensive line after losing Buckner with a big-time star defensive tackle, Javon Kinlaw from South Carolina. Kinlaw is seen by many as a top-10 talent, but in a position that is undervalued in today’s NFL.

Kinlaw is a junior college transfer who has improved each year he has played, including a first-team All-American bid as a senior in 2019.  Kinlaw is still raw and lacks pad discipline after getting tired. Look for Kinlaw to come into San Francisco and be an instant impact player.  Once coached the right way, Kinlaw could be the steal of the draft at pick no. 13.

There has been speculation that general manager John Lynch is open to moving back from pick No. 13 and No. 31, but it doesn’t feel like there are many suitors for this spot. It’s too early for a team to move up for Jordan Love, so the 49ers will take the best available player and look to slide back from pick No. 31. If the Dallas Cowboys love Kinlaw, they could be a potential trade partner as well.

14. player. 48. . Offensive Tackle. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mekhi Becton

While Tampa Bay fans will still be celebrating from landing possibly the greatest quarterback of all-time Tom Brady, they should be celebrating they were able to get one of the top four tackles at pick No. 14.  If the New York Giants can’t pass on Simmons, they would likely go tackle and make this pick impossible.

No one enhanced their draft stock at the combine as much as Mekhi Becton, the 6-foot 7-inch, 364-pound monster showed tremendous athleticism running a 5.1 forty-yard dash. Becton has the highest ceiling of the top four tackles but also is the highest bust risk playing against mediocre talent in the ACC.

A diluted drug sample from the combine may push Becton to the fourth tackle taken, but what an opportunity to start his career blocking for Brady. If there is an early run on tackles (New York Giants), the Buccaneers could look to jump into the top 10 and have a selection of tackles. With Rob Gronkowski joining the team this week, O.J. Howard could be a valuable trade piece.
