Week 5: Cleveland Browns at New York Giants, Monday Night Football
Here we are, the storyline game. The Browns and Giants have so many storylines going that there is little to no chance that the league and ESPN will not capitalize. First, you have the return of Odell Beckham Jr. against his former team in his old stadium (even though he will have technically played there twice already).
Then you have Baker Mayfield going against Daniel Jones, which shouldn’t be a thing but after Baker’s comments last season, you can bet it will get plenty of headlines. If there needed to be a cherry on top, you have former Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens on the Giants sideline. It is yet to be seen if a Browns player will hand him an interception.
Week 6: Washington Redskins at Cleveland Browns, 1 pm
The Browns welcome the Redskins to town. On paper, this is one of those possible trap games as the Browns should be the heavy favorite. It should be noted that the Browns have dropped three straight to the Redskins. With Chase Young now chasing quarterbacks for the Redskins, the Browns will need to mind their P’s and Q’s.
Week 7: Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans, 1 pm
Pure plain and simple, this is a revenge game. The opening day loss to the Titans last year derailed the season, and the Browns were never fully able to recover from it. They will get their chance to right that wrong in Nashville this year.
Week 8: Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 pm
The Browns might have dodged a bullet with this matchup. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Browns were one of the teams that were eligible to play the Jaguars in London. The NFL announced earlier this week that there would be no international games played. Although that is not great news for fans abroad, it is good news for the Browns as those games and the travel have proven to take a toll on teams in the past. The Browns also need to snap their losing streak to Jacksonville which is currently at three straight games.
