Cleveland Browns schedule release: 7 Most winnable games in 2020
By Hank Kilburn
Week 11 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The Browns will be coming off of a tough stretch going into week 11.
The Eagles had one of the worst receiving corps in the entire league last year. They failed to get one of the top three receiving prospects in the draft to solidify that number one slot. Jalen Reagor is a good pick, but being a little more aggressive for a potential number one target for Carson Wentz would’ve been the smart move.
Instead, Doug Pederson will stick with aging, injury-prone DeSean Jackson as his best wideout. The Browns’ secondary should be able to keep these receivers in check for most of the game.
General manager Howie Roseman also failed to upgrade the running back position this offseason. Many people say don’t pay running backs but in this case, all they had to do was draft one. Cleveland’s defense should make the Eagles’ offense one dimensional and force Wentz to throw to a very average group of receivers.
The Cleveland Browns will have to rely on Baker Mayfield to put the team on his back in this game. Philadelphia was ranked third in the league in rushing yards allowed last season and 19th in passing yards allowed. With the number of weapons at Mayfield’s disposal, there should be no issue with having open targets. He will need to hit them.
This game won’t be easy because Pederson is a good coach but the Browns should be able to win this one.
