Cleveland Browns News: Peyton Hillis wishes he retired with Browns

The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news, including how Peyton Hillis wishes he would have finished his career with Browns.

The Cleveland Browns fan base showed their loyalty and their passion back in 2011 when they showed their support through voting. As EA Sports conducted a tournament to determine who the cover athlete would be for Madden NFL 12, the Dawg Pound voted enough for Peyton Hillis to win the tournament and become the cover athlete.

Hillis became a fan favorite during his first season with the Browns in 2010, bursting onto the scene and rushing for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns. Browns fans instantly loved Hillis because of his hard-nosed playing style and blue-collar background, making Hillis seem extremely relatable.

However. after being on the Madden cover, Hillis dealt with several issues in 2011, causing the Browns to decide to move on from the running back, and did not even offer him a contract at the end of the 2011 season.

In today’s featured article, Hillis explained in a radio interview Monday that he wishes he could have stayed in Cleveland and finished his playing career as a Brown.

Hillis had issues on and off the field during the 2011 season, which made it seem like an easy decision for the Browns to move on. Some may even consider Hillis’ downfall was due to the Madden curse. However, Hillis clearly wanted to be a Cleveland Brown and believes it would have been a benefit for his career.
