These free agents are still available and have ties to the Cleveland Browns

Chances are, the Cleveland Browns are done making moves in free agency. They don’t really need to make any more moves after the success they had this offseason, which has the roster looking as competitive as it has in years.

Of course, things could still change. There’s a chance that someone could get injured once training camp starts up. Or maybe, someone who is expected to fill a certain role might not fit the new scheme being run by head coach Kevin Stefanski or new defensive coordinator Joe Woods.

Should either of those issues pop up, the Browns could look to free agency to solidify their roster. And if they do so, they could try and find someone they have a connection to — such as one of these three remaining free agents.

Honorable Mention: Ron Leary, Guard

Ron Leary has a connection to the Packers through Joe Woods, who was with the Denver Broncos from 2015 through 2018 before joining the San Francisco 49ers last season. While he was a defensive coach and never worked directly with Leary, Woods is surely familiar with the mauling offensive lineman who was with the Broncos for Woods’ final two seasons there.

A former undrafted free agent, Leary does have some injury concerns which led to his release from Denver. It’s also likely playing a part in him remaining unsigned but should the Browns decide they need a better option at right guard, he could be someone worth giving a workout.
