The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including Jadeveon Clowney still being in the cards for the Browns.

The Cleveland Browns have been seemingly in and out of the Jadeveon Clowney sweepstakes for nearly the entire offseason. At first the Browns were perceived as the favorites to sign Clowney, then they seemed like they were out of the race to sign Clowney.

After it was reported Clowney did not want to be in Cleveland, that made it appear Cleveland had no chance to land the 27-year-old. However, now it seems like the Browns are right back in the race, especially if Clowney decides to sign a one-year deal.

Clowney’s decision may last until all the way until training camp, giving several teams the opportunity to make an offer the edge rusher cannot refuse. By waiting until training camp, Clowney is likely hoping for a few certain teams he wants to play for to enter the sweepstakes.

Why are the Browns still pursuing Jadeveon Clowney if he doesn’t want to be here? Hey, Mary Kay! – Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"Both of those teams have said recently that they haven’t had much contact with Clowney or his reps lately. It seems to me that his options are dwindling and that perhaps the Browns’ offer will start to look better to him soon."

The Browns are one of the few teams with plenty of cap space available to sign Clowney, as well as being in contact for most of the offseason. If offers do not dramatically change before training camp starts, the Browns may have a better shot to land Clowney than believed.

How much should Myles Garrett’s next contract be? – Benjamin Solak, The Draft Network

"There’s a case for waiting; there’s a case for getting on top of it early. But make no bones about it: the Browns’ willingness to start talking with Garrett indicates that they are willing to make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league if that’s what it takes."

With several contract extensions looming for their core players, the Browns may take the approach of paying their players as soon as they can. Myles Garrett has shown the potential of being the next great pass rusher in the NFL, so the Browns should be willing to break the bank to re-sign him.
