The Cleveland Browns have done well over the past several years of finding undrafted free agents who can make an impact on their roster during the regular season. It may only be one rookie undrafted free agent who makes the roster, but the player can fill an important role.

It worked out well for the Browns last offseason, as Jamie Gillan went from undrafted free agent to becoming a reliable starting punter for the Browns. Cleveland also received contributions from Stephen Carlson and J.T. Hassell later in the season.

The Browns were busy following the 2020 NFL Draft, signing 15 undrafted free agents. With so many signings, there is a good chance of a few finding their way on the final roster, as others will likely fill out the practice squad.

Today’s featured article takes a look at which undrafted free agents have the best chance of landing on the final roster.

Browns Mailbag: Which undrafted free agent could break through in 2020? – Andrew Gribble, ClevelandBrowns.com

"WRs Ja’Marcus Bradley/Tony Brown – Both players were incredibly productive in college — Bradley caught 160 passes for 2,359 yards; Brown is coming off a 56-catch senior season — but it’s all about the position group they’re joining. Behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, the Browns have opportunities available for wide receivers who impress at training camp."

The Browns have multiple undrafted free agents like A.J. Green and Alex Taylor who receive most of the attention. However, with the bottom of the roster being filled with several young players, there will be plenty of opportunities for some other undrafted free agents to catch on. They will have a short time frame to do so, but they will have their chances.

5 most overhyped Browns heading into 2020

The Browns have several players who receive plenty of attention because of their talent or potential. However, some will not live up to the hype, and Randy Gurzi looks at five Browns who are receiving too much hype heading into the upcoming season.

Kareem Hunt is the Browns’ not-so-secret weapon – Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com

"It starts with this idea: How many Browns skill players, if you were an offensive coordinator, would you choose to put on the field over Hunt? The list isn’t long. Hunt’s ability to do a little bit of everything means a defense has to react to wherever he lines up, whether it’s in the backfield alone, as part of a duo or split out wide or in the slot."

Kareem Hunt could play a role in Cleveland’s offense as a Swiss-army knife as someone who could line up all over the field for the Browns. With a full offseason of working in the offense, it would not be surprising to see Hunt have a much bigger role and have a bigger effect in this year’s offense compared to 2019.
