It’s never too early for a way too early Cleveland Browns mock draft

Andrew Berry is in his first season as the Cleveland Browns general manager and so far, the results have been impressive. He’s done a great job filling the holes on the roster he inherited and he did so without having to go overboard with splashy moves.

On the offensive line, he was smart in both free agency and the draft. Jack Conklin was added on a three-year deal which gives them a proven veteran to play on the right side in place of Chris Hubbard. In the draft, he stayed put at No. 10 and avoided the temptation to move up or drop back.

In doing so, he let the board fall to him and the result was Jedrick Wills from Alabama being there for the taking. Now, both offensive tackle positions should be massively upgraded from what they had a season ago.

Berry continued to make smart picks as he added safety Grant Delpit in the second round and then was able to land linebacker Jacob Phillips and defensive tackle Jordan Elliott in the third. His run on SEC players was wise as they brought in several rookies who are used to playing in front of a national audience against the most elite talent the NCAA has to offer.

If there was anything Berry did to try and get splashy, it would have to be the move for former Atlanta Falcons tight end Austin Hooper. His first big prize signing, Hooper became the highest-paid tight end in the game and while they already had David Njoku, it’s hard to argue they didn’t get better here as well.

With all this being said, we now look ahead to the 2021 offseason and wonder what other moves Berry can make to try and solidify the roster going forward with this way too early 7-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft.
