Cornerback is another position where the Browns look pretty solid on the depth chart but could use some more talent behind the big names. Heading into 2020, they’re looking to roll with Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams, and Kevin Johnson as their top three corners.

Ward and Williams were both highly-touted additions with Ward joining them as the No. 4 overall pick in 2018 and Williams was their top pick, which came in Round 2, in 2019. As a rookie, Williams struggled to get up to speed and a hamstring injury slowed him down early on. Ward also dealt with his own hamstring issue and missed time for the second season in a row.

Cleveland had T.J. Carrie but released him and that led to the signing of Kevin Johnson. Like Ward, Johnson was a first-round pick but he has yet to live up to his draft status and is now already on his third NFL team. Johnson is also on a one-year deal, meaning he could be one and done if he doesn’t prove to be the player they hope for.

Also on the way out could be Terrance Mitchell, their fourth corner who is a free agent in 2021. Put all that together and Cleveland needs to add to the depth chart which is why they take Florida’s Marco Wilson here.

Wilson has his own injury history but if he can shake that, he should be a day two pick. He has great size at 6-foot-0 and 190-pounds and is best suited in man coverage. Should they retain Johnson, Wilson would be a decent third option but ideally, he could be the fourth guy early on as he develops at the next level.
