The Browns defensive line does have some decent depth on the edge with the addition of Adrian Clayborn who join Chad Thomas. Clayborn was brought to the team this offseason once the team realized how thin they were there in 2019.

With Myles Garrett being sidelined by the league and Vernon struggling to stay healthy, the Browns were starting Chad Thomas and rotating between Porter Gustin and Bryan Cox, Jr. They even had to shift Sheldon Richardson from defensive tackle to end quite often.

In order to keep that from continuing to happen, they have to stockpile depth, even with someone such as Clayborn in the mix. For that reason, they take a second defensive end in this 2021 NFL Mock Draft as they pick JaQuan Bailey from Iowa State.

Bailey played in just three games last season which is why he will return for a fifth-year with the Cyclones. He has a great mix of speed and size and could develop into a contributor in time.

With Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills on the team, the Browns are finally set at offensive tackle. They also convinced Chris Hubbard to stick around on a reduced salary, which gives them an experienced swing tackle.

Kendall Lamm is another option, which gives them much more depth than they have had in the past two seasons. This doesn’t mean they can stop working to develop more help at the position.

That’s the goal with their final pick in this mock as the Browns add Boston College offensive tackle Ben Petrula. At 6-foot-5 and 325-pounds, Petrula is an intriguing player due to the fact that he has played at both center and right tackle.
