1. Myles Garrett – Defensive End

This one comes as little surprise. The best option for a 10-year contract on the Browns would be defensive end, Myles Garrett. The only difficult thing about this deal would be the risk of injury. The Browns would have to make the money great enough to be worth it for Garrett, but would in return need some protection in case of a serious injury.

At age 24, many would argue that Garrett is the best defensive end in the game. Not only can Garrett get after the quarterback, but he has also shown that he can set the edge and be a dominant run defender as well. In 37 total games so far, Garrett has 30.5 sacks and appears to be in contention for Defensive MVP in 2020.

Garrett was limited by an injury his rookie year and a suspension in 2019. If you haven’t watched Garrett develop you may ask if there would be a risk in a 10-year deal given those two things.  I’m a firm believer that Garrett would be worth a mega extension.

The injury was a one-time thing that has not lingered, and there is no data that shows the acts that caused the suspension will be reoccurring. In fact, many would argue he was likely provoked in the situation (Still doesn’t mean you can hit someone with a helmet).

Garrett would demand a deal like Mahomes with heavy guarantees. There’s no crystal ball that can tell you to make or not make a deal, but when you look at the current roster it appears Garrett would be the safest bet at this point. While we came up with 3 possibilities for 10-year deals, keep in mind there are plenty of teams that have zero options

While you may feel a couple of options are farfetched, consider it a good thing the Browns have strong enough roster to try and justify three long term deals.
