The Cleveland Browns attacked their biggest needs during the 2020 NFL Draft, especially with their first two picks of the draft. Cleveland filled massive needs at left tackle and at safety with the selections of Jedrick Wills and Grant Delpit.

The Browns had a lot of changeover on the defensive side of the ball, especially in the secondary. With all of the new faces in the secondary, Delpit will have a chance to grab a significant role in the defense.

The unknown is how Joe Woods would prefer to deploy his defense. Will he utilize three safeties instead of using three linebackers. Would he prefer veterans on his defense instead of rookies or young players?

With that in mind, today’s featured article looks at how Delpit will fit into the Browns defense in 2020.

Most Important Questions: No. 8 – Where will Grant Delpit fit on Browns’ defense? – Andrew Gribble, ClevelandBrowns.com

"“I think it would be unfair to task him as just a free, just a strong or just what we would call a big nickel. The appeal is that he really does have the modern-day safety skill set from a coverage standpoint because of that versatility. That is something that we are really excited to have.”"

Delpit showed during his college career he can play all over the field, as well as being able to make plays all over the field. If the Browns decide to use three safeties in 2020, Delpit may be the perfect fit as the No. 3 safety because of his versatility to be used all over the field.

"“End up at the end of the season, torn abductor, torn rectus abdominis on the right. So pretty much, I was just f—ed up the whole year. I really didn’t try and say anything about it.“Probably one of the worst surgeries I’ve ever had. Recovery’s going well. Guess I’m really just trying to put my body back together.”"

It was evident the injury hampered Odell Beckham Jr. throughout the entire 2019 season. With increased chemistry and being completely healthy, there is a chance Beckham could have a path to major redemption in 2020.
