No 3. Grant Delpit (Rookie of the year)

Yes, this may sound a bit crazy and can be considered a hot take. That said, Grant Delpit has already seen his name in the mix for sleeper in the 2020 NFL draft.

While it is generally hard for anyone who is not a top pick to win these types of awards simply because they don’t get much hype, Delpit can at least strive for something like this and work his way up.

The Browns are weak in the secondary. Even after signing Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo, they still need major help in this category. Because of this, Delpit is going to get plenty of opportunities right from the jump.

Delpit had two interceptions and 65 combined tackles in his last year of college ball, on his way to winning the College Football National Championship. He’s a leader, and despite his young age, he is going to enter his rookie year and make some big plays for this defense and lead them as best as he can.

If Delpit can enter this new season confident enough that he has a shot at an award like this, it is only going to help his play on the field and make him a better athlete mentally. If he really wants rookie of the year, he will have to shine as number one pick Chase Young has all the anticipation and hype surrounding him as one of the top defensive ends to come into the league from the draft in a while.

Delpit is high on my list in terms of Browns’ players to watch closely this season, as I am a big believer in him and in the fact that he potentially could be one of the steals of the draft.
