3 remaining free agents the Cleveland Browns could consider pursuing

Everson Griffen – Defensive End
While the big-name everyone has been waiting on is Jadeveon Clowney, it’s time for Browns fans to move on. Why would you want him here if the Browns are his best offer and he still says no? That just tells me he is being far too picky and isn’t motivated to prove himself.
The name fans should have their eyes on is Everson Griffen. Yes, he will be 32-years-old at the start of the season, but he has proven year-in and year-out to be a dependable and effective player. While his double-digit sack seasons came in 2014-2017, he still had eight sacks and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl last season.
Griffen isn’t necessarily a need for this Browns roster, but what I like to call gravy. It’s obvious Berry and company put a high value on pass rushers and a lower value on linebackers, so why not go all in.
With Garrett and Olivier Vernon as starters, the Browns would have a loaded front with Adrian Clayborn and Griffen as backups. If the Browns are set at linebacker, there is no better way to help them perform at a higher-level than with a dominant defensive front. If the Browns were able to land Griffen they would have seven legitimate starting-caliber players on the defensive front.
With the season nearing and Clowney still on the market, the price tag on Griffen could be much less than anticipated. While it is still tough for the Browns to pitch “come to Cleveland and win,” they are certainly on their way to a loaded roster. Maybe Berry is satisfied with the roster as is, but don’t be shocked to see a few changes before the season starts.
