2. Jarius Wright, Wide Receiver

In the opening, it was touched on that it’s going to be hard for new Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski to introduce his offense the way he would like thanks to the limited time he had with his team in the offseason. For that reason, the Browns are fortunate to have someone such as Case Keenum as a backup quarterback.

Keenum is familiar with Stefanski’s offense as the two worked together in Minnesota. In fact, Stefanski was the quarterback coach during the 2017 season when Keenum started for an injured Sam Bradford and took the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game. Having Keenum could be huge as he could help Baker Mayfield get on the right page much more quickly.

In that same regard, the Browns could look to free agency to land a wide receiver who is familiar with Stefanski’s offense. Jarius Wright spent the past two seasons with the Carolina Panthers but before that, he was with the Vikings for six seasons, including 2017 when they had their run to the championship game.

Wright is an eight-year veteran who has 224 receptions for 2,782 yards and 11 touchdowns. He’s not exactly going to threaten teams deep but he’s a steady route runner with soft hands. He could be a player capable of pushing Rashard Higgins for snaps, or at the very least, he could help others at his position figure things out a little quicker.
