Predicting the Cleveland Browns wide receiver depth chart in 2020
We have been running down the players fighting for a spot on the Cleveland Browns roster in 2020 and we are now onto the wide receiver position. Cleveland is top-heavy in this department but that doesn’t mean they don’t have solid players behind Odell Beckham, Jr. and Jarvis Landry.
In fact, the Browns come into this season with a couple of players talented enough to earn the No. 3 spot behind the two superstars. They also have a few players who have enough talent that it would make cutting them really hard.
Let’s dive right in and look at how the Browns wide receivers look as the 2020 training camp is underway.
Starters
The two starters remain unchanged for Cleveland as they continue to be LSU North with former Tiger teammates OBJ and Jarvis Landry lining up as the unquestioned starters.
Odell Beckham, Jr.
Landed in a trade with the New York Giants ahead of the 2019 season, Odell Beckham, Jr. came in with a massive spotlight on him. OBJ has said he feels as though he is the most scrutinized player in the NFL and Browns fans saw that first hand. Every move he made ended up making headlines.
To be fair, OBJ didn’t help his cause. He was on the wrong side of several petty arguments with NFL officials over things as trivial as a watch, a visor, and cleats. While it’s easy to say the league was picking on him, there’s also no other player who struggles to follow the rules the way he does.
As for his play on the field, Beckham wasn’t his normal self in 2019. He was injured for much of the season so hopefully, after healing up in the offseason he can thrive in 2020. It would also be nice to have the drama behind him too.
Jarvis Landry
OBJ wasn’t the only one banged up all season as Jarvis Landry was also dealing with his share of injury problems. Like Beckham, he never missed a game but did have hip surgery in the offseason.
Landry starts the 2020 camp on the PUP list as he continues to get back to full strength. Having both these guys at 100 percent would be huge, especially when you realize they each topped 1,000-yards while dealing with nagging injuries.
