Cleveland Browns LB Mack Wilson carted off
Chubb is in the concussion protocol but the team believes he will be fine.
Now on Tuesday, Mack Wilson was again involved in a play that ended with trainers coming onto the field but this one looks much worse.
Wilson went down during 7-on-7 drills and it wasn’t clear exactly what happened. He appeared to slip and then couldn’t put pressure on his leg afterward.
Any time a player is unable to put pressure on their knee after such a fall, the dreads ACL tear is brought up. Right now, there’s no report from Berea as to whether or not this is the fear, but there will be speculation nonetheless.
The Browns were already thin at the linebacker position. Mack Wilson was a starter last year after being a fifth round pick out Alabama. This season there was gonna be even more on his plate after the team lost Joe Schobert in free agency and released Christian Kirksey after two injury plagued seasons.
Should Wilson be gone for any length of time, the team will have to rely on Sione Takitaki the second year pro from BYU and Jacob Phillips the LSU rookie. They also have BJ gets a free agent they picked up from the New York Giants in the offseason.
Still, a position that was already hurting for death just got a lot worse for the Browns.
