Cordrea Tankersley

Cordrea Tankersley has had one of the roughest starts to an NFL career of anyone in recent memory. After playing in only 11 games his rookie season, he tore his ACL in his second season. Since then, he hasn’t played a down. He wasn’t able to play at all in 2019 and was put on the COVID-19/Reserve list during training camp by the Dolphins. He was then later cut.

Tankersley is finally fully healthy again, and then was put on the COVID-19/Reserve list. That is a tough break. He’s definitely worth the look for the team to consider bringing in. He is only 26-years-old and is a 6-foot-1 cornerback who was a former third-round pick. He was a great player in college and just hasn’t had the opportunity to prove himself much during his NFL career so far.

The Browns should at least give Tankersley a tryout at this point, considering that he fits the build of what they are trying to do long term. He is an athletic guy, has great size, and could be acquired for cheap. He is unproven, but so are some of the other cornerbacks on the roster like M.J. Stewart.

Next. Browns may not be a desirable destination. dark

Should Tankersley walk in right away and be able to play opposite of Denzel Ward while Williams is out? No. However, Tankersley could definitely develop himself into a player who could fit nicely into the third or fourth cornerback spot on the roster.
