3. The Injury Bug

This one may be easier said than done and isn’t something the Browns can really control, but my oh my, the injuries have been decimating thus far. Training camp started with Myles Garrett and Nick Chubb missing some time. Truthfully, it doesn’t appear either were seriously injured, but a hamstring (Garrett) and concussion (Chubb), are two of the most nagging injuries that you can have.

Fans were up in arms about that which seemed silly once Mack Wilson and then Grant Delpit went down just days after. While Delpit (Achilles) is 100 percent done for the season, it remains to be seen if Wilson will be able to give it a go. Linebacker and secondary were already thin for the Browns, so these injuries really sting.

Also, don’t forget that second-year cornerback Greedy Williams is also missing practice with a shoulder injury. At this time there have been limited details released on Williams, but head coach Kevin Stefanski left reporters feeling the injury could be serious and cause him to miss substantial time.

Don’t get me wrong, all teams deal with injuries and it is a huge part of the NFL. Grown men running at each other full speed is going to cause issues.

However, this run of injuries for the Browns is almost unbelievable. Between COVID-19 opt-outs and injuries, the Browns will be missing a key part from each aspect of the defense (Andrew Billings – defensive line, Wilson – linebacker, Delpit – secondary).
