Cleveland Browns 7-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft as training camp is well underway

Round 3, Pick 91: Patrick Jones II, EDGE, Pitt
Another potential first-round pick falls into the lap of the Browns here with the 91st pick in this 2021 NFL Mock Draft as Pitt pass rusher Patrick Jones II heads to Cleveland. Jones II is consistently ranked as a top-three pass rusher in this year’s draft class as he enters his Redshirt Senior after a career year in 2019.
The 6-foot-5 and 260-pound edge rusher racked up eight and a half sacks and 11.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage a year ago, proving to be a menace off the edge for the Panthers. Throughout his collegiate career at Pitt, Jones II has a total of 19.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks, forcing a whopping five forced fumbles off the edge.
The Browns lack depth with pass-rushing specialists. Point blank.
Outside of Myles Garrett and his new, rich contract, the Browns lack any sort of pop beyond 2020. Olivier Vernon provided a solid presence opposite Garrett when healthy (stop using sacks as the metric for defensive end success), but he is often hurt and his contract expires after this upcoming season.
Chad Thomas is no lock to even make the roster by the end of training camp, and outside of him exists undrafted free agent from a year ago in Porter Gustin. Needless to say, Jones II would be a welcome addition to the roster in Cleveland.
