Cleveland Browns Roster Prediction: Safety (5)

Another position group that was dealt a massive blow was at safety. The Browns lost Grant Delpit, their second-round pick, to a torn Achilles. The LSU star will now have to wait until 2021 to get his season underway. Thankfully, there are still several options for the team to go with in order to remain competitive in 2020.

Karl Joseph, Andrew Sendejo, Sheldrick Redwine, J.T. Hassell, Jovante Moffatt

Their top safety this season is going to be Karl Joseph, a free agent who spent four seasons with the Oakland Raiders before joining Cleveland. Joseph never seemed to be in the plans for Jon Gruden but he’s a hard-hitting safety who now has something to prove as he comes in with a one-year deal.

Another veteran free-agent addition was Andrew Sendejo, who has ties to head coach Kevin Stefanski since they both spent plenty of time in Minnesota. Sendejo isn’t a player who will wow anyone with his athleticism but he’s a savvy vet who is always in the right position.

Sendejo might not have the second job locked down, however, as Sheldrick Redwine has been coming for his job with a full-head of steam. Redwine has been stepping up in recent practices as he looks to make a big leap in his sophomore campaign.

The group is rounded out with J.T. Hassell and Jovante Moffatt in this prediction. Hassell has some experience with the Browns which helps him out and Moffatt played well in the recent scrimmage which gives him a slight edge. Undrafted out of  Middle Tennessee State, he had a pick to end the practice which is how he beats out  Elijah Benton here.
