The Cleveland Browns have a unique competition in their kicking unit

The Cleveland Browns come into the 2020 season with many competition battles for positions on the team. Whether it be the third wide receiver battle between KhaDarel Hodge and Rashard Higgins or the battle for snaps at linebacker, there are still many questions to be answered.

One unlikely battle that has emerged in training camp, however, is the battle between kicker Austin Seibert and punter Jamie Gillan.

While the two are very much set in their jobs, they have a much more interesting competition ongoing: a battle for the best mullet.

Jamie Gillan has had long hair since his days playing Australian football, and donned the look all of last year during his rookie NFL campaign. Austin Seibert, however, kept a shorter haircut all of last season and since his days as an Oklahoma Sooner.

The battle for the best mullet will be an interesting one to watch, and it may be the most interesting kicker competition in the entire NFL. Some teams are trying out multiple kickers to find the guy to help them win games this season. Thankfully, the Browns have a much easier, lighthearted competition than that.

It’s unsure exactly when the competition began and for how long it will go on, but it’s one to definitely keep an eye on as the season progresses.

We can only hope that it’s a good competition, but after seeing Gillan’s longer hair previously, Seibert definitely has an uphill climb to win this very important competition.
