Can the Cleveland Browns defeat the Washington Football Team?

It’s been a long time since the Cleveland Browns have boasted a winning record. Not since 2014 have they been above .500 which has been very frustrating for the patient and loyal fan base. However, the Dawg Pound could finally get a taste of victory this weekend as the Cleveland Browns will be hosting the Washington Football Team in Week 3 of the 2020 NFL Season.

Each team comes in at 1-1 but the Browns feel like the favorites in this one. For as bad as they looked in their Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, they rebounded nicely for a win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football. The win not only helped them forget the rough start, but it also came in the middle of the week, giving them an extra few days off to plan for this one.

So while the Washington Football Team was out there playing against the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland was sitting back and doing some scouting in preparation for this game. And in watching Washington, a couple of things had to stand out — both in regards to the pass rush.

Right now, Washington has one of the most feared pass-rushing teams in the game. Led by Chase Young and Ryan Kerrigan, the Football Team already has 11 sacks. On the flip side, they have surrendered seven while Dwayne Haskins has been under pressure many more times than that.

This game will likely come down to whether or not the Browns can get after Haskins while keeping  Baker Mayfield clean. If they can win those battles, they might finally see that elusive winning record.

But can they do it? That’s the question the Dawg Pound Daily crew looks to answer. Check out or predictions for the upcoming game and if you like the writer’s take, click on their name to see more of their work covering the Browns.
