Cleveland Browns: 4 players who must step up vs. Washington
By Cory Kinnan
The entire defensive front four
Not only was the offensive line upgraded significantly this offseason by Berry and the Browns, but the defensive front was as well. Not only did they sign Adrian Clayborn and Andrew Billings (who they will have to wait until next year to see), but they landed Jordan Elliott in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Elliott has exceeded expectations at this point, and the Browns have even potentially lucked into a gem in former undrafted free agent pass rusher Porter Gustin.
Now this strong defensive front led by the likes of Myles Garrett, Sheldon Richardson, and Larry Ogunjobi faces a banged-up offensive front from Washington. Not only did the Football Team lose their Pro Bowl guard in Brandon Scherff, but starting right tackle Morgan Moses may miss the game as well, listed as questionable.
Given how banged up the Browns are at the linebacker position and in the secondary, they will need this front four to get after the second-year quarterback in Haskins.
With a rookie running back and only one significant threat at wide receiver, the Browns need to cover up the inadequacies of their own defense by exposing those on the offensive side of the ball for Washington.
