Defensive holes are filled in Cleveland Browns 7-round 2021 mock draft

After the first three games of the season, the Cleveland Browns are sitting at 2-1. It’s a great feeling to have a winning record but while enjoying that, it’s still possible to look at the roster and desire a few tweaks — primarily on the defensive side of the ball.

Offensively, Cleveland has been solid. General manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski made some good moves in the offseason which included bringing in Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills to shore up the offensive line. They also got some help from Wyatt Teller, who has been a stud at right guard.

Their play up front has opened holes for both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt to rip off some huge gains and is helping Baker Mayfield learn to perform better in the pocket. There’s still a ways to go with No. 6, but the early returns from the work he has put in with Stefanski and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt have been positive.

Having said all that, the defensive side of the ball needs some work. Sure, injuries have depleted the secondary — most notable being the torn Achilles suffered by Grant Delpit — but that’s not the only reason they’ve struggled. The truth is, they need more talent.

With that being the case, we look ahead here with a way-too-early 2021 seven-round mock draft where we predict what Andrew Berry might do as he continues to build up the Cleveland Browns roster.
