Drafting a cornerback this early might seem like a bit of a stretch considering the Browns do have talent on that side of the ball, but we can’t act like everything is great there. For the second season in a row, the Browns have seen their depth challenged with a plethora of injuries to their top cover men.

Greedy Williams has started each of his first two NFL campaigns on the sideline and Denzel Ward has also had his own battles with durability. On top of that, Kevin Johnson and Terrance Mitchell are both slated for free agency in 2021. With all that being said, they land one of the better corners in the draft un Jaycee Horn from South Carolina.

The son of former NFL wideout Joe Horn, Jaycee doesn’t lack confidence in the slightest, which is key when playing the position. So far in his career with the Gamecocks, Horn has been solid in press coverage and knows how to use his 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame to frustrate opposing receivers. He’s also already very solid in his technique but still has room to get even better.

Horn could play early as a third corner but there’s a real chance he can become a starter down the road. It gives them insurance for the injuries now, and someone who can challenge for a job later.
