Safety looks like a weakness right now for the Browns, but it won’t be in 2021. Eventually, Ronnie Harrison will get up to speed and should be a starter. They could also bring Karl Joseph back, and he has been playing well in the first three weeks. And of course, 2020 second-round pick Grant Delpit should be 100 percent healthy after tearing his Achilles in training camp.

Still, they could use some depth, which is why they land Tariq Thompson here. The San Diego State safety is a ball hawk with 10 picks and could have gone higher had he played against better competition than what he does in the Mountain West.

There can never be too much defensive line depth. The Browns are much better in this regard right now and Andrew Billings should be back in 2021 after opting out due to COVID concerns. Now, they get another big body in Robert Cooper, the 332-pound nose tackle from Florida State. He will help out on run downs due to his power and ability to fill the gaps.

Ben Brown plays right guard and there was a time when the Cleveland Browns were desperate for one of them. Wyatt Teller ended that need and will continue to lock that spot down for the foreseeable future. That doesn’t mean the Browns don’t need depth.

Enter, Ben Brown, who also has experience at center and tackle. His versatility makes him an ideal fit as a reserve lineman, helping them limit how many offensive linemen they need on the active roster since he can fill so many spots in a pinch.
