5 Bold predictions for Cleveland Browns in Week 5 vs. the Indianapolis Colts

2. The offense continues to mesh
Some would argue that the Browns offense hasn’t “flashed” yet, as Baker Mayfield hasn’t had a 300 plus yard passing game and Beckham has yet to have any one-handed “you got Mossed” catches. But when is the last time you remember feeling confident when the Browns offense went on the field? I flashback to 2007 with Derek Anderson and Braylon Edwards. Other than that, it has been a lot of years of just expecting a three and out.
While this offense hasn’t been filled with long pass plays, the team is absolutely killing it in the running game. The offensive line usually only gets the blame and no credit is playing out of their mind. The interior of the Browns offensive line may be the best in football with Joel Bitonio, J.C. Tretter, and Wyatt Teller.
With over 800 rushing yards through four weeks, Stefanski will continue to pound the rock. However, you are starting to see more and more trick plays as well as play action-passes as the season goes on. For the first time since 2018, Baker showed the zip and accuracy Brown’s fans fell in love with in the huge win over the Cowboys.
Look for the chemistry to continue vs. the Colts. Indianapolis won’t be as easy to push around up front and Mayfield will have to be able to throw the ball in order to win. I anticipate Austin Hooper coming up big this week and finally showing the connection shown in camp with Mayfield. The Colts will do their best to stop the run, which will only help the passing game.
