How has Baker Mayfield faired for the Cleveland Browns thus far?

We have hit the quarter-mark of the 2020 season, and much to the pleasant surprise of most, the Cleveland Browns sit at a record of 3-1 for the first time in 19 years. As the Indianapolis Colts are next up on the schedule for the Browns, we take a quick breather to sit back and evaluate how quarterback Baker Mayfield has progressed through the first four weeks of the season.

While Mayfield had an abysmal Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, he has shown plenty of signs of life over the past three weeks as the Browns are inching near the top in overall offensive efficiency. On the season to this point, Mayfield is completing 62 percent of his passes for 729 yards passing, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The Browns have been extremely effective on the ground, but not enough has been said for the effectiveness of Mayfield when his number has been called upon. Has Mayfield been perfect? Absolutely not, but there are also a good amount of signs of positivity for the Browns and their starting quarterback.

After four weeks of the season have come and gone, we now have a pretty decent sample size to grade and evaluate players and overall performances by. How has Mayfield looked and improved over the first quarter of the season? What are areas of continued improvement, and where should we expect him to be by the midway point in the 2020 season?
