DT Larry Ogunjobi

There is no way around it: defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi had an absolutely abysmal 2019 season under defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. Entering the 2020 season, the Browns added two defensive tackles to their roster in Andrew Billings and Jordan Elliott as added protection and to bolster their rotation along the interior of their defensive line. Clearly, they were also doing so to plan long term.

However, in his fourth and final year of his contract, Ogunjobi is sniffing that money with a new payday in sight. It is not all money either, as players who are top notch athletes usually take some time to put it all together processing and technique wise. It seems as the 2020 season is underway, though, that Ogunjobi has put it together for the Browns as he and his running mate Sheldon Richardson are both playing at an extremely high level.

Ogunjobi left Sunday’s game with an injury, but it doesn’t seem all too serious as the Browns are monitoring his status throughout the week, meaning he is day-to-day. He may miss a week or two, but looks to be back in a short amount of time for Cleveland.

With a payday on the horizon for Ogunjobi, he will look to continue to prove he is well worth the long term investment to stay with the brown and orange. He is off to a great start early on.
