3 under-the-radar Cleveland Browns players to watch in Week 5

The Cleveland Browns are riding high after a 49-38 victory over the Dallas Cowboys that improved their record to 3-1. The Browns have scored 118 points over their past three games, but welcome the NFL’s top defense through four weeks to First Energy Stadium on Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts are the best team Cleveland has faced since the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, and they’ll need a good all-around performance in order to come out victorious in a game that could have potentially have significant playoff implications.

In particular, the offense is going to be challenged to match their recent production against a terrific defense, albeit one that is banged-up heading into this week. Colts Defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus was a candidate for the Browns head coaching job two years ago, and will likely get his chance to run a team very soon. He’s an excellent strategist who has done a great job with not a whole lot of talent during his time in Indianapolis, and this season has been no different.

The Browns were held to just six points by Baltimore and were unable to run their standard run-based offense for the entire second half of that game. The Colts have a comparable defense, but their offense is not nearly as high-powered as Baltimore’s. Indy is certainly not a team to take lightly, but this is a perfectly winnable game for Cleveland, as long as these three players do their job.
