Cleveland Browns Week 5 injury report
The Cleveland Browns head into Week 5 on a three-game winning streak. They’ll be hosting another team with three-straight wins as the 3-1 Indianapolis Colts are on the schedule for them this week. For the Browns, they got some good news on the injury front in this one as it appears David Njoku is ready to go.
Njoku was one of the few bright spots in their Week 1 loss but then he missed the following three games. Now, back to health, his addition should help improve the passing game as Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant were fine but neither player has the same explosion Njoku offers.
While Njoku’s return will help the offense, the defense could be without one of their stars as Karl Joseph popped up on the injury report this week with a hamstring injury, which was suffered in practice.
Joseph joins a list of injured players, including defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, cornerback Greedy Williams, and linebacker Tae Davis who are all out. There’s also Adrian Clayborn, who is questionable heading into the game.
The Browns full injury report can be found on the team’s official website.
Out
Larry Ogunjobi, Defensive Tackle (Abdomen)
Greedy Williams, Cornerback (Shoulder)
Tae Davis, Linebacker (Elbow)
Questionable
Adrian Clayborn, EDGE (Hip)
Karl Joseph, Safety (Hamstring)
For the Colts, there will be a couple of key players out as well. They will be without linebacker Darius Leonard who is battling a groin injury and offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo with a rib injury.
Cleveland has been struggling to get healthy on defense this season and while Joseph could still go, the fact that he’s been slowed down is another unfortunate break in a rough season when it comes to their injury woes.
