Stud: Ronnie Harrison, Safety

While there has been so much frustration with Andrew Sendejo and the ongoing injury to cornerback Greedy Williams, Ronnie Harrison who was traded for right before the beginning of the season has begun to shine. While he went out with an injury in the second half of Sunday, he stood out multiple times and has earned stud no. three this week.

Fans have been calling for Harrison the last three weeks after struggles from Sendejo, and unfortunately, it took an injury to Joseph for him to get the start he deserved. Harrison is a big body who can cover half the field as well as step up and take down a running back when needed.

Perhaps the biggest play of the day was a third and short that Phillip Rivers slung to the flats for T.Y. Hilton that was intercepted and taken back to the house by Harrison. That put the Browns up 27-10 and looked to be the game until the Browns coverage team gave up a kickoff return for a touchdown the following play.

Let’s hope Harrison will be back vs. the Steelers next week, as Mary Kay Cabot reported he was evaluated for a concussion after the pick-six. If the secondary can finally be healthy with Harrison and Joseph at safety, the Browns may have a shot at slowing the Steelers down.

The defense was still bad at times, but they continue to force turnovers and turn them into points. It’s going to be hard to survive off that all season, but if the unit continues to get healthy and work through some kinks, they can still be good enough to get the Browns to the postseason.
