4 Reasons Cleveland Browns will beat Pittsburgh
By Greg Newland
1. Making things uncomfortable for Big Ben
Through five weeks of the NFL season, Myles Garrett has lived up to the $125 million contract extension this offseason. He has wreaked havoc in the backfield and leads the NFL with six sacks, which also includes two strips. When Garrett isn’t sacking the quarterback, he has been in their face causing quick throws. He even forced a safety last week without a sack as Phillip Rivers panicked and threw a ball away while in the endzone that was ruled intentional grounding.
Luckily for Garrett, he isn’t the only one that is causing pressure. Since getting healthy, Olivier Vernon has continued to improve each week and is looking to get back to 2019 form before his other knee injury. Additionally, Sheldon Richardson is having a pro-bowl year rushing the passer and stuffing the run. Another crucial guy is Larry Ogunjobi who missed last week but is hopeful to return for this heated rivalry game.
While Big Ben is still a top quarterback in the league, there is no question he isn’t quite where he was five years ago. On top of that, his arsenal of weapons to choose from is not nearly as talented. Long story short, this offense can be stopped, and Roethlisberger will even turn the ball over if you get in his face enough.
There’s no doubt a lot of things will have to go right for the Browns to get this win, but there is also no doubt that this coaching staff will have them prepared to do all those things. For the past decade, the Browns would have had to get lucky to beat Pittsburgh, but now they have the talent to do so consistently.
This is a big week Browns fans, and a win at Pittsburgh sure would put everyone in a good mood. Look for Stefanski to cement coach of the year early with a huge win and a five-game win streak.
