Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know

This game coming up will be huge for the Cleveland Browns. They’re 4-1 and about to face a 4-0 Pittsburgh Steelers team while riding a high from their win over Indianapolis in Week 5. But most of the storyline won’t center on that.

Instead, we will continue to hear about Myles Garrett taking the field against Pittsburgh for the first time since the “incident” from last season. That incident was when Garrett hit Mason Rudolph in the head with his own helmet and found himself suspended for six games.

Garrett has done everything he can to put that night behind him and so far, he’s done a great job at that. And apparently, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin also wants to leave it in the past.

When asked about seeing Garrett for the first time since the brawl, Tomlin wisely said he wasn’t discussing that. This story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Mike Tomlin on facing Myles Garrett: Steelers not looking for ‘that reality TV storyline’ — Nick Shook, NFL.com

"“We’re not looking for that low-hanging fruit or that reality TV storyline,” Tomlin said. “This is a big game here in 2020.”"

Tomlin has taken the high road ever since the fight happened and should be commended for that. As for the quarterback, Mason Rudolph, he sure didn’t want to. He continually ripped Garrett and proudly admitted he went back after him out of anger. Maybe the coach can rub off some on Rudolph.

NFL picks, predictions for Week 6: Steelers hold off Browns; Chiefs, 49ers rebound in prime time — Bill Bender, Sporting News

"“Emotions should be high because this is the first matchup with big implications in this rivalry in a while. The Steelers’ defense showed holes in the secondary last week, and Baker Mayfield will make some big plays in the passing game. Cleveland will lead at halftime, but the Steelers will rally in the fourth quarter for another big victory at the Browns’ expense.Pick: Steelers 29, Browns 27”"

Bender did have the Browns beating the Cowboys, so he’s got some cred. Still, he expects this one to be close, and it probably will be. We’ll see if Cleveland can prove him wrong this time around.

A little taste of what Austin Hooper can do: Browns rewatch observations — Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com

"“Then, on Sunday, Hooper was targeted a season-high ten times, catching five more passes for a season-high 57 yards. It was our first extended look at Hooper in the passing game and all the little things he can do for this offense.”"

Cleveland paid a lot for Austin Hooper and the returns haven’t been there just yet. Sunday was a great game for him though and the hope is that he and Baker Mayfield will only grow together.

Week 5 reminder of Rashard Higgins rapport with Baker Mayfield

Rashard Higgins and Baker Mayfield are always on the same page. Yet Higgins is not always on the field. Sunday was a reminder of why the Dawg Pound questions the latter.
