Game: Cleveland Browns (4-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (4-0)
Summary: Well this is it. The moment of truth. Have the Cleveland Browns truly turned a corner? Can they go into Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers? In short, hell yeah they can! Although it’s going to take the most complete game they have played this season to leave Heinz Field with a Dub.
Offensively it is imperative that the Browns end-all of their possessions with a kick; either an extra point, a field goal, or a punt. Playing a clean game and not giving the Steelers a short field is the second-best thing the offense can do for the Browns defense. The best thing they can do…is score points.
Baker Mayfield needs to keep the offense on schedule and ahead of the sticks. This game script may have to get flipped from its normal deviation. The Browns may need to establish their running game first and then finish off the Steelers with their rhythm passing attack.
On the defensive side of the ball, it comes down to three objectives: pressure, finishing and capitalizing. The Browns will be able to pressure Ben Roethlisberger, but they have to finish. Pressuring and even making contact will not be enough to rattle the 17-year veteran quarterback. The play is not over until he is on the ground and the referee blows his whistle.
If the Browns can capitalize and make Roethlisberger pay when he goes into John Wayne mode, they can set the offense up for some easy scoring opportunities. And that is exactly what will happen, the Browns will win the turnover battle and the game. Big Dub!
Prediction: Cleveland 28, Pittsburgh 24
