Stephen A. Smith says OBJ should demand a trade from the Cleveland Browns

Stephen A. Smith loves to say things that will get people riled up and no one is easier to rile up than Cleveland Browns fans when their quarterback struggles. That was the case on Sunday as Baker Mayfield was out of rhythm against the Steelers, which has brought out the doubters.

Colin Cowherd has never missed a chance to bash Mayfield and he was out in full force on Monday. Also ready to lay it out there was ESPN’s Stephan A., but he didn’t just talk about Mayfield. Instead, he spoke on Odell Beckham, Jr. and Jarvis Landry, saying they needed “an exit strategy.”

Smith said that he has “given up” on this team and that the Browns star receivers, mainly OBJ, should do all they can to get out of there.

That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Analyst: Browns WR Odell Beckham Must Demand a Trade — J.R. DeGroote, Heavy.com

"“I’ve given up. I think Cleveland should give up. I think the Browns should give up. I think the city should give up,” Smith said on Monday’s First Take. “Enough is enough.”"

Stephen A. is a character. He says things just to get a reaction and usually doesn’t even believe what he says. That’s all we have to say about that.

David Njoku still wants the Browns to trade him by the Nov. 3 deadline, league source says — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“Tight end David Njoku would still like the Browns to trade him, a league source told cleveland.com on Monday.”"

Njoku went to social media to say he never told Mary Kay that he wanted to be traded, but it wasn’t like Mary Kay said Njoku said this. She claimed sources close to the tight end are saying this. At this point, it would be understandable as he seems to hardly be in the game plan at this point.

What did Myles Garrett and Mike Tomlin talk about before Browns-Steelers game? — Liz Roscher, Yahoo Sports

"“Him, his brother, my mother and my uncle all went to school together in Virginia so we were just talking about that. I made a little joke about some phone games they had been playing, and that was it. He said, ‘Good luck, live your life, have fun and tell your mother I said hello.’”"

Garrett said the talk had nothing to do with last year and it will be nice to no longer have that as a lingering storyline. Clearly, Myles and the Steelers have moved on, and hopefully, we can too.

Baker Mayfield will remain Cleveland Browns starting quarterback

Mayfield was pulled in Week 6 for Case Keenum but that had to do with him being injured more than anything. After the game, Kevin Stefanski tried to silence any talk of a quarterback controversy.
