4 Reasons the Cleveland Browns will beat the Bengals in Week 7
By Greg Newland
1. The ground game
Cleveland’s running game will continue to be a huge reason why the team will continue to have a chance to win every game they play. Although the Browns were only able to rush for 75 yards vs. the Steelers on Sunday, look for them to regroup and bounce back in a big way.
Many believe there’s a chance Teller will be back which will be a huge lift to the run game. Nick Chubb is still out for another 2-3 games, but Kareem Hunt, D’Ernest Johnson, and Dontrell Hilliard have enough firepower to get the job done.
After running for 215 yards in the team’s week two meeting, obviously, the Bengals will want to prove they are better than that. But look for the Browns to be too big, and too strong for will power to matter. Joel Bitonio (left guard), and Jack Conklin (right tackle) both had extremely tough weeks vs. the Steelers and will be both looking to get back on the right track.
Stefanski knows his quarterback is damaged physically and mentally now. Although the Bengals are more than capable of beating the Browns, they are the weakest team in the division and could be a great opportunity for the team to get their confidence back.
With Cleveland able to run the ball, passing lanes will open, and then the play-action game can be next to impossible to stop. While the Steelers loss was tough, this game vs. the Bengals now becomes the most important as the team cannot start 1-3 in the division.
This game will be close for three quarters, and then the Browns will pull away as they wear down the Bengals defensive front and impose their will in the run game.
