3. S Keanu Neal

Of all players the Browns could make a deal for at the trade deadline, Falcons’ safety Keanu Neal would be a massive name to consider adding to the roster in Cleveland. The only problem: the Browns would have to double pay for Neal’s services should they make a deal with Atlanta for the hard hitting safety.

The former first round pick back in 2016 is entering the last year of his rookie contract with the Falcons, and will need a new contract at the end of the season, and one that would appear to be a hefty extension on top of that. So not only would the Browns most likely have to sacrifice a day-two pick to add Neal to the roster, but they would then have to immediately turn around and hand him a new contract as well.

However, looking at the safety room, it may be a good idea for general manager Andrew Berry to pull the trigger on Neal. With Ronnie Harrison playing well, the Browns have no long term plan outside of him as there is no guarantees second round pick Grant Delpit fully recovers from his ruptured achilles.

While Neal has not played a full season in two years, Neal looks to be back and better than ever fresh off of a torn ACL. He has recorded a sack and five tackles behind the line of scrimmage already, and has racked up a massive 33 solo tackles. He is an ideal fit in defensive coordinator Joe Woods’ scheme.
