Cleveland Browns vs. Raiders: Week 8 score predictions
By Randy Gurzi
Predicting the score for the Cleveland Browns Week 8 game vs. Las Vegas
The 5-2 Cleveland Browns will be hosting the 3-3 Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday as they look to build upon the success they had in Week 7 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. In that game, the Browns had a great performance from Baker Mayfield, who shrugged off a horrific start to have one of his best games as a pro.
Not only was Mayfield playing well, but Cleveland had some great performances from Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones as well — with DPJ hauling in the game-winning touchdown pass from Mayfield.
Now, the Browns are set to host the Raiders, who happen to be the first team Mayfield started against as a rookie. That came in Week 4 of the 2018 season and the rookie was coming off a fantastic performance in his debut when he relieved an injured Tyrod Taylor and led the Browns to a come from behind win over the New York Jets.
Cleveland ended up losing that game to the Raiders but it wasn’t without some controversy. Running back Nick Chubb had converted a first-down which would have allowed Cleveland to run the clock out and get the win but the refs overturned the call. Oakland (at the time) ended up forcing overtime and got the win, with the assist from the zebras.
So for this prediction, Baker Mayfield gets revenge on the Raiders for giving him his first loss as a starting quarterback as the Browns make it to the halfway point with a record of 6-2.
Prediction: Cleveland 31, Las Vegas 27
