Cleveland Browns News: Andrew Berry speaks on OBJ trade rumors

Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know
Andrew Berry has had enough of that question. We really don’t even have to say more than that and every Cleveland Browns will know which question it is.
Ever since Berry took the job as general manager of the Browns, there has been non-stop speculation that he could be trading Odell Beckham, Jr. Even when OBJ tore his ACL, the rumors persisted as the new question is whether or not No. 13 will suit up for the orange and brown ever again.
On Wednesday, Berry met with the media during the team’s midseason bye week and was hit with the question and he quickly dismissed it. Berry not only said there was no trade ever in the works, but reminded us all that he has answered that question time and time again since moving back to Berea.
That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Browns GM has had enough of constant Odell Beckham speculation — Michael Blinn, NY Post
"“I feel like this is a question I’ve literally addressed every week since I took the job,” he said told media on a Wednesday Zoom call. “So really at this point in time, I really don’t see a difference.”"
From there, Berry said that their focus is on getting Beckham healthy so he can continue to contribute on the field. But of course, that won’t be enough to stop the rumors because those simply seem to follow OBJ for some reason.
"“We explored a number of different possibilities, and really for us, the trade process is really every week, it is not even just about the deadline,” Berry said. “So, we did explore a number of different possible transactions.”"
This quote from Andrew Berry was in reference to the trade deadline. While the Browns were quiet, the first-year GM did say they were looking into some possible moves. In the end, he clearly felt it was best to play this season out with their current roster while keeping their assets in 2021 to continue building the team.
"“I think Baker has done a nice job. He has done a nice job of putting us in a position to win games in the first eight weeks of the season.”"
Another tidbit from the press conference comes from Jake Trotter who looked at Berry’s comments on quarterback Baker Mayfield. Berry says Mayfield is doing what he’s supposed to and has them in a position to win games. Some fans might not agree, but 5-3 is a solid record and they have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way.
