RG Wyatt Teller: A+

Probably the biggest surprise of the 2020 season, Wyatt Teller was solid in his eight games of action in 2019, having been traded to the Browns from the Buffalo Bills at the end of the preseason. He’d been a left guard in Buffalo, and made the switch to RG in Cleveland. He was expected to be decent, but definitely the weak link the Browns OL this season. No one expected him to be the best OL on not just the team, but in the entire league.

Teller was flat-out dominant before suffering a calf strain in Week 5. He allowed only three pressures and had to have been leading the NFL in pancake blocks. Stefanski brought over his Gary Kubiak-inspired outside zone running scheme, but Teller’s pulling prowess changed the plan some. The Browns ran a lot of power, with Teller pulling to the left side and opening massive running lanes for Nick Chubb.

That variance is what’s been missing from the offense since Teller went down, and as good as Chubb is, Teller’s absence has probably had a larger impact than Chubb’s. Teller was just playing that well. He’s not eligible to sign a contract extension until after the season, since this is his third year in the league, but the Browns should be talking to Teller’s camp right now, and as soon as that restriction is lifted, he should have a contract in his hands ready to sign.
