Cleveland Browns get key players back at practice after bye

The Cleveland Browns have multiple key players back at practice Monday
The Cleveland Browns are getting healthy after the bye week. The Browns have announced that Nick Chubb is off injured reserve and ready to go. He, along with multiple key players, was back at practice Monday.
While getting Jacob Phillips back could boost the defense, the big news here belongs to Chubb and right guard Wyatt Teller. The Browns lost Chubb week four in Dallas to an MCL sprain, and the running game has suffered since the loss.
Nick Chubb
During the first four weeks of 2020, the combo of Chubb and running mate Kareem Hunt averaged 205 yards per game, helping lead the charge to a 3-1 start. Chubb led the way on the ground with 335 yards averaging an eye-popping 5.9 yards per carry. Once Chubb went down, the ground game fell off with the lack of depth to just 95.5 yards per game and 3.9 yards per carry. Some of that has to do with the defenses faced over that time, but a lot of has to do with Chubb and another big piece that is also back today.
Wyatt Teller
Teller was also a big part of the run game’s success through the first four weeks. As one of the best run blockers in the NFL this season, when he went down in week five, Tellar might be more significant than Chubb. A running back is only as good as the guy moving the pile in front of him.
The rushing offense should certainly get a boost from having both back in the lineup against the Houston Texans. It also doesn’t hurt that Houston is the worst team in the NFL at stopping the run at 159.5 yards given up per contest, per the football database.
With these two huge pieces back on offense along with Jarvis Landry and fullback Andy Janovich also ready to go, the offense has a chance to get back on track as one of the best in the NFL after a bit of drop the last three weeks.
Defensive help
The defense will have Myles Garrett still wreaking havoc after he went down with a knee injury against the Raiders and played the rest of the way sparingly. Browns fans will hope rookie linebacker Jacob Phillips can stay on the field and help what has been a bad group overall this season.
It is great to see a bunch of guys getting healthy and ready to help the 5-3 Cleveland Browns on the stretch run to the playoffs.
