Ronnie Harrison – A

Ronnie Harrison was drafted in the third round in 2018 and had two solid seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being dealt to the Browns for a 2021 fifth-round pick prior to Week 1. He didn’t get significant playing time until injuries forced him into the starting lineup against the Indianapolis Colts, where he promptly returned an interception for a touchdown. He’s dropped two other pick-sixes and has been sticky in coverage as while as a reliable tackler.

Harrison has been by far Cleveland’s best safety, and has a very strong claim to the title of the team’s best defender outside of Myles Garrett. He ranks as a top-10 safety according to Pro Football Focus, and while it might be a bit unfair to expect him to be that good, he definitely seems like a player the Browns are going to want around long-term. He’s not even 24 yet, which bodes very well for his continued development. Harrison is under contract through next season, so it would not be surprising to see Cleveland offer him an extension this offseason. Harrison and Grant Delpit should be an excellent safety tandem for a long time.

And that draft pick Cleveland sent to the Jags for Harrison? It was an extra fifth the Browns acquired from the Rams in exchange for Austin Corbett, who was selected 33rd overall in 2018. Corbett ended up being a massive bust, but getting a good young starting safety isn’t a bad way to salvage that selection.
